The Open HPC Week 2023 has ended successfully
RTU HPC Centre participated in the Open HPC week organized within the framework of the EuroCC 2 project of the HPC Competence Centre in Latvia, during which it offered a unique opportunity – to see in the seminar premises how a particle of a supercomputer or HPC cluster works virtually in life.
The Open HPC week has ended successfully with a unique supercomputer demonstration and participation in the V World Congress of Latvian Scientists. This was already the third year EuroCC Latvia organized an Open HPC Week.
Supercomputing or High-Performance Computing (HPC) Competence Centre in Latvia organized four main events during the Open HPC Week to inform different target groups about the benefits of using a supercomputer, as well as providing some real-life examples, such as supercomputers helping to increase energy efficiency, predict erosion from rivers and seas, model floods, etc. Participants also had an opportunity to see the Data Center, where Latvian supercomputers are stored.
Informative seminar for European Digital Innovation Hubs in Latvia
Business Breakfast for SMEs
An afternoon for public administration and academia
On June 27, anyone could learn about possible benefits of using an HPC can give to the public sector, when should a supercomputer be considered, and how start using it.
HPC demonstrations in the V World Congress of Latvian Scientists
During the V World Congress of Latvian Scientists, Riga Technical University’s HPC Centre and representatives from the HPC Competence Centre “SuperS”, presented examples of the use of HPC – demo-cases developed within the EuroCC project.
Participants had a chance to speak to some of the demo-case experts and find out more about technical details in using the HPC for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling, for collect microwaves in the air for use in power generation and for medicinal fixator modeling.
