RTU Supercomputer has been Included in Top 500 of FOLDING@HOME Rating

The supercomputer of Riga Technical University HPC Center as a part of the CERN Baltic Group team was ranked 484 in the global support rating of Folding@Home COVID-19 research initiative. This is a significant achievement that confirms the capacity of Latvia and the Baltics in HPC area, as this result has been reached in the period of five months in the competition with more than 245,000 teams.

CERN Baltic Group team consists of RTU HPC Center, the Institute of Numerical Modelling of the University of Latvia, the National Library of Latvia, Vilnius University, Kaunas University of Technology, Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center and “DATI Group” Ltd.

Upon the start of COVID-19 pandemic, CERN Baltic Group followed the initiative of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) to allocate their HPC computing resources to fight COVID-19 within Folding@Home activity.
